This book was a really fast and enjoyable read for me.
This is Angie and Kyle's story and enjoyable one at that. Though I loved the book I wish there could have been a development of more heat in the beginning of the book. Though it does start out as Angie and Rogers story don't let that fool you one bit. This story actually begins with these two lovers 3 years prior and that is all I will say about that.
Just like me you will have to pick up the book to actually find out what really happens.
Get the book I think you will enjoy it as much as I did.
Oh and if you feel the urge to strangle Roger than by all means I feel the same

Everything happened so quick in this story that when it came to the end I was like wait.. What? Had to rewind for a second! Lol. Kyle was attracted to and possibly in love with Angie forever! But some serious missed signals and a messy web of relationships later these two find each other again. They have to work together because his college best friend who is also his partner in the company just dumped Angie and leaves her hopeless and miserable. She now has to write these love stories everyday until Christmas to make people want to buy diamonds... Well since she's been dumped her inspiration out the door she is now under crunch time to make it right and who else demands to spend every minute with her until she does...? Kyle! Well Angie can't get it out of her head at first that Kyle chose to be with her sister instead of her and broke her heart so things are a little strained between them... I won't give it away but read it and find out what happens! It's good and it's quick! I loved it!
Angie was hilarious. A broken heart can definitely bring out that sarcastic humor we all love. I love her quotes at the beginning of each chapter. She definitely has some "homicidal" fire in her and cynical wit to match.
I liked Kyle and I totally bought the attraction between them but Kyle was pretty slow when it came to choosing her or the other half of the company. Considering how deeply he always felt for her. Why do men always lie to themselves when it comes to love I wonder?
The ending was a little too abrupt for me even with the HEA. It almost seemed like Stephanie Rowe gave up adding a little more depth to it.
It was a great contemporary romance, however, and the sex scenes were brief, steamy and tasteful. I loved the banter between Angie and Kyle. And obviously I disliked Roger not only for breaking Angie's heart but for being selfish and treating everything in his life as it held no true importance to him. I hated Angie's sister from the small appearences she had throughout the story.
Great read. Highly recommend.
Both Stephanie Rowe and her character Angie Miller are amusingly clever in perception and expressions in this holiday read.
Angie Miller writes stories for a marketing firm. Normally they are full of love and inspiration everything the client is looking for to sell their product. But that was before she got dumped by her boyfriend over Thanksgiving when she thought he was going to propose. Now all she wants to do is burn everything she see that has to do with Christmas. And the worst thing is they have a new client they are trying to land and they are expecting her to write a daily online serial to convince men to buy diamonds for there women for Christmas.
Ha - fat chance of that. The first story released without approval was spewing with sarcasm and hate.
Kyle Black started his marketing firm with Roger. Kyle had the brains but Roger had the financial backing. Problem is Roger is lazy and spends all his time snoozing women. And for the past 2 years that women was Angie before he dumped her. Kyle really needs to land there latest account as the business isn't doing so well and Roger doesn't seem to care. When he finds out Roger dumped Angie he realizes why they article was the way it was. He vows to get Angie back in the Christmas spirit and feel the love of the season to try and save the account.
Problem is - for the first 5 month when Angie joined the company she had a big crush on Kyle. But instead of him acting on it he started dating her sister. So Angie has a little animosity built up towards him over that.
So will these two be able to work together? What happens when they both realize that the attraction was two-sided back then?
I'll save the best for last. So what DIDN'T work for me was Angie not standing up for herself, and not speaking her mind regarding her feelings. A couple of years ago, she enlisted her sister's help in trying to move her cozy working relationship with her boss to the next level; we'll come back to that decision. When her sister ended up dating said boss, what woman wouldn't have gone to her sister and asked, "Seriously? This is what you call help?", and a few other choice phrases that I don't think I can print on .
Other things that didn't work Angie had to know what her sister was like, so why ask her to help with a relationship with a really sexy man? In the two years Angie dated Roger, he never noticed her sister (the story says her family knows Roger, so why did he tell Kyle he'd "met" a new and exciting woman?)? In what universe does one sister steal another sister's boyfriend and the family is totally supportive of the "stealer", and is actually relieved that the jilted sister (their DAUGHTER) says she's not coming to the family Christmas party? See, there are obviously some issues with the story.
Now for the good stuff. In spite of the questions above, this is such a cute, sweet, funny story! Love may not always be easy, but it's always worth the wait! Angie and Kyle have been attracted to each other for years, but Angie's skanky sister and her slimy boyfriend Roger (a rebound from Kyle) are pretty big obstacles. But SPOILER ALERT -- true love always prevails (well, it does in the typical romance novel, right?).
Read the story. You'll be glad you did.
